Lo scoiattolo che amava il cioccolato
(The Squirrel Who Loved Chocolate)

Lo scoiattolo che amava il cioccolato
Published in 2017 by Feltrinelli in Italian

Toni believes he is the most beautiful squirrel in the Dolomites and is proud of his thick tail, which is so admired by the tourists. Toni is also fond of chocolate-chip cookies. One day ignoring the recommendations of his friend Marlene, a raven with shiny black feathers he follows a trail of crumbs left by two children, slips into a car, falls asleep under the seat and...when he wakes up he's in a big city. As a prisoner in a cage, Toni is very unhappy, and even more so when the two children decide to shave him from the tip of the ears to the tip of the tail. What does a naked squirrel look like? Well...a big mouse, or at least that's the opinion of the mother of the children chasing him with the broom trying to smash him. Toni runs away with raised paws, but his troubles are not over. Falling into a garbage can, attacked by a band of ferocious rats, he takes refuge on the tallest tree in a small garden hoping to see the Dolomites in the distance, but around him there are only skyscrapers. How will he survive?
